A small JFET buffer/booster for passive piezo pickups.
Designed for instruments where the piezo signal needs a high-impedance input, better cable driving, and a little more output level before the amplifier, pedalboard, wireless system, or preamp.
Originally developed for acoustic guitar piezo systems, but also suitable for upright bass, violin, cello, and other acoustic instruments with passive piezo pickups.
The circuit uses a J201 JFET input stage, runs from a standard 9 V supply, and includes an internal bias trimmer for correct operating point adjustment.
