Update on BassVoice Preamp

We’re currently finalizing an updated version of the BassVoice preamp, based on recent testing and feedback from double bass players.

BassVoice is a dedicated upright bass preamp designed for piezo pickups and real stage conditions.

It focuses on controlling the instrument’s behaviour rather than just amplifying the signal — shaping low end, reducing nasal mids, and preserving a natural feel at performance volume.

Features

  • High input impedance optimized for piezo pickups (10 MΩ)
  • Low-frequency control at 80 Hz (±) — add body or reduce boom
  • Selective mid cut around 600 Hz — reduce nasal character
  • High-frequency shaping with optional presence boost
  • Phase inversion for resonance control
  • Designed for real stage conditions
  • Size: 50 × 20 × 80 mm (1.97 × 0.79 × 3.15 in)
    Weight: 108 g (3.8 oz)

Why it’s different

BassVoice is not a generic DI or acoustic preamp.

Instead of a full EQ, it focuses on the key problem areas of upright bass with piezo pickups — low-end balance, midrange harshness, and overall instrument behaviour on stage.

The controls are tuned to work with the instrument, not against it.
